Fabric is low-quality, high design

I purchased the king duvet set, plus the matching sheets and toss pillow. Ultimately I returned the sheets because they were so scratchy my husband refused to sleep in them. The sheets were thin and scratchy, low thread count. The duvet set looks great though and since the fabric would not be against our skin we kept the duvet, which came with two king pillowcases. The pillowcases are for extra pillows you lean against, not pillows you would lay your head on (again, scratchy cotton). We paired the duvet set with 800-thread-count silver sheets from Hotel Collection instead. This duvet buttons along the bottom hem, and the color and design are as pictured, a rich aubergine that goes great when coordinated with plum, silver, or beige. After washing the duvet there were a lot of wrinkles in it, so I did a quick steaming pass with an iron over the bed to release the wrinkles on top (not a big deal, the wrinkles came out easily). The pillowcases really need to be pressed on an ironing board. Keep in mind that this set is Calvin Klein's "affordable" collection, not their luxury collection, but unfortunately I could not find anything in their luxury collection that I liked the look of better, nor could I find softer sheets like the CK sheets I bought five years ago. I would recommend purchasing this duvet set over any of the "luxury" CK duvet sets - as long as you get it on sale! - and then buy some nicer, softer sheets.
