We bought this bedspread for a guest room. It`s more of a light weight spread than a true coverlet. Even so, it`s held up well to a good many washings. Shrinkage has been moderate with only a little of the puckering these types of spreads are sometimes notorious for. Color fade (our`s is white, so yellowing) hasn`t been anything objectionable. (It`s taken on something of a softer, more light creme tone.)All in all, an excellent value for the price.Note: If you desire something heavier and warmer, i.e. something more in the way of a 1950`s style coverlet, consider the (also USA made Maine Heritage Weavers) Abigail Adams Matelasse Bedspread. We have two (one in white, one in antique blue) and think they`re wonderful!Addendum: We made this purchase via an authorized Amazon reseller, not direct from Amazon.

A Summer weight spread

Comforters are great during the winter--although they are, in my opinion, a bit heavy. Come Summer you need a lighter bedspread and this one does the trick AND is so beautiful!
