This is a no brainer. I have been shopping for a decent motorized drapery rod for years. Problem was that I refused to pay $400-$1200 for a solution that was not only too expensive but also ugly. Everything else out there looks like it hasn't changed since the 80's and would need to be hidden away. And then out of nowhere I find these made by erod. They were a much more realistic price and looked better than anything else on the market currently. I thought it was too good to be true so I emailed the company and within an hour I already had a response back from the owner and inventor. I made my order right then and there and have no regrets. My order shipped out promptly and I installed it as soon as it arrived. The build quality is top notch, was super easy to install, and the operation is smooth. It never fails to impress anyone I show it off to.Go ahead, make a new tab and search for any other motorized drapery rods. You'll be back once you see how bad everything else looks in comparison.

I've been searching for about a decade for an affordable motorized drapery rod. They've either been so badly engineered (cords looped around a pulley on a box the size of a loaf of bread), or so pricey ($600 - $1200) that they haven't been viable. Then I came across this unit, and it looked good, so I ordered one. It's well engineered (even managed to withstand mild mangling by UPS), and looks good. The motor is small and attached to the rod itself, not some huge honking box you have to bolt to the wall. Installation was simple, with good instructions. (I did a 110" window single-handed, so that's a recommendation.)I did have one glitch that the motor assembly was DOA, so I contacted them by phone using the toll-free number on the installation instructions, and it was answered immediately by someone knowledgable! They gave me some trouble-shooting tips just to make sure the unit really was defective, and when it turned out it was, I contacted them again, and they immediately sent out a replacement unit, that had been personally tested by the owner of the company to make sure it worked! So, great engineering, and absolutely spectacular customer service! I'm now thinking about the other windows in my home that I'd like to control....
