Pros: Good value for money Fairly easy to assemble Extra hardware Tools included for assembly Dark finish (black) Arrives in 4 separate boxes (Easier to move and keep track of parts) Looks very modern Square canopy railsCons: Not all tools included Small gaps at some joints Not solid wood. The bed frame arrived as 4 separate boxes which is nice because it keeps the parts organized and easy to build. They have also included extra hardware pieces in case you lose a couple. Also every box includes assembly tools; more than one person can tighten the bolts. Each box contains a single page exploded view of all the parts required to put it together. The instructions contain no step-by-step process, but the picture was very clear. The bed does NOT include all tools required for assembly. You will need a Phillips head (+) screwdriver and a socket wrench.I believe it was a 13mm socket, but I am not sure. The socket wrench has to be small. I recommend a 1/4" drive socket wrench. The socket wrench has to fit in a confined space. Larger wrenches will not fit. This only applies to the 4 nuts which hold the post to bed. There are stamped wrenches included with the kit, but there is not enough room to use them.I thought I might mention that it is not solid wood. I did not expect it to be and I am fine with the fact that the bed is particle board. At this price, I was not expecting to get solid wood. Also, you will need a box spring for this bed. Not enough cross bracing to just use a mattress and the headboard does not go all the way to the floor. Finally, there are some small gaps at some of the joints. They are rather small and hardly noticeable. You can minimize the gaps by tightening the hardware after all the hardware is snug per the instructions. It is important to tighten the 4 post to the headboard and footboard before the other hardware on the headboard on footboard. Otherwise, there will be a big gap and flex on the board across the top.Overall the bed is good value for money. Similar beds I have been looking are twice the price and too old fashioned. The wood is very dark/black. The bed looks very handsome and modern. The canopy rails are rectangular, not round. I really like the look of the rectangular canopy rail.I would recommend to others based on first impressions.Update (9/28/13): I would like to mention I picked this up for $595.54
