I traded in my old mattress topper for this one because I've recently started waking up achy every morning--although I walk it off pretty easily as soon as I'm up and moving about. I wanted to find out if the problem, which Advil PM wasn't having any impact on whatsoever, could be related to what I was sleeping on, and therefore probably fixable, or whether it's a case of encroaching decrepitude, which I'm probably stuck with. Since replacing a mattress topper vs replacing a mattress is a whole lot less costly, I decided to start with replacing the topper. Two factors in my choice of this one were (a)that a Google search of independent consumer organization ratings of memory foam toppers said that in terms of effectiveness there was no difference between the more expensive 3" pads and the 2" inchers and (b) I liked the Blueflex claims of diminished foam odor.After 40 nights' use, I can report that:1. It's comfortable, but has had no impact on my achiness on wakeup.2. The advertised "refreshing natural aroma" that "reduces fresh foam odor" comes across more like going to bed with a big box of Junior Mints or pint of Ben and Jerry's Mint Chocolate Cookie, a scent I happen to like a lot, but sleeping with it took some getting used to. After two weeks or so, the minty chocolate smell was pretty much gone, or maybe I just stopped noticing it.3. The topper cover--which comes with this, but is not included with the purchase of other memory foam pads that I've seen--apparently really does wick away moisture, as claimed. One night when I went to get into bed I discovered that my elderly cat Stanley Underfoot had, somewhere in the course of that evening, left a dinner-plate-sized very liquid barf on the bed and it had soaked all the way through the quilt and sheets, but stopped at the "topper cover," which, along with the Blueflex pad and mattress below, had remained bone dry.

I've been suffering from severe lower back pain for almost a year, and now that I'm pregnant it's only gotten worse. I've been going to physical therapy twice a week for months and months, and although it's helped with the severity of the pain, I would still have episodes where I couldnt even walk or roll over without my husbands help.My parents ordered this topper for me almost three weeks ago. And here is what I think.1. It got here in 3 days!2. It was ready to put on my bed in less than 10 minutes. Just unroll it, and it reshapes in no time!3. Yes it does have a scent, but I find it quite pleasent. Like one reviewer said, it does smell like junior mints. Sadly the scent is almost gone. It smells more like faint green tea like the discription of the product states.4. My back hasnt hurt in 2 weeks! AMAZING! I still have normal pregnancy aches and pains, but Im not suffering like I was. I can even chase my toddler without the terrible spasms I would normally have.5. I hardly move at all though the night. Normally, I toss and turn. Now when I wake up in the middle of the night it is only because of the wiggling baby in my tummy.6. Well worth the money if you can't afford a new mattress right now.7. Even my husband who is a skeptic about everything, had to admit that he has been sleeping better. Even if there was nothing wrong with the mattress in the first place, according to him.8. I only wish it was thicker. Course, then my sheets wouldnt fit.

I received this as a gift. I've been having on & off back pain for years & my loving mom thought this would help. When I saw this big box on my doorstep I squatted down fully prepared to lift with my legs & I dang near fell over backwards! It's SO light! I brought it in and wrestled the many yards of plastic wrap that held it in a jelly roll shape. I then opened the cover that came with it on my bed, unfolded the Blueflex and began zipping it up. BUT when I got to the end the zipper zipped right off the tracks!!! This is because it wasn't properly sewn. I immediately emailed Sleep Studio (the manufacturer) which chose NOT to respond to me. I let my mom know and Amazon was kind enough to offer to allow us to return it or accept a partial refund (I had her chose the latter since I didn't know if I could fold it back down and wrestle plastic wrap around it so it would fit back in the box!). So Sleep Studio gets a BIG FAT "F" in Customer Service!!! As for the pad, like others have said, it smells like Junior Mints at first (even my dogs smelled like it!) but then the scent fades. I didn't mind the scent (and neither did my dogs!). Unlike others who say it does NOT absorb heat, I beg to differ (and no..I'm not going thru "the change"!). I have woken up countless nights to remove blankets, flip pillows to the cool side and move to the other side of the bed because I was lying in a "hot spot" and couldn't cool down. Most of the time it's fine temperature wise, but when I run hot..so does the BlueFlex! But I have to admit I am more comfortable in my bed with this pad (much better than the one I got at a warehouse store years ago!) than without. I love 'snuggling' into bed each night, taking a deep breath having that "ahhhhhhhh" moment. It's just too bad the people at Sleep Studio don't care about their Customers. Thank gawd Amazon does!
